* snow is shy

snow is shy
it likes to come at night
when it's
Quiet. no one notices
its wet feathers in the
darkness settling light
-ly on each other

snow is shy
it never tries to fight
when it's pushed aside
by noisy, rowdy rain

snow is shy
it hides under a cloud
so the sun won't see it
fall
   to the ground
      without a cry

snow is shy
it waits outside your door
and won't come in
and I like snow
lie still by morning
