Gordon Rule Assignment

General Information

PSY 2012 is a Gordon Rule class and requires a minimum of 1,500 words of writing in order to demonstrate effective written communication.

Your paper must follow APA guidelines. The Publication Manual of the American Psychology Association, 5th edition (2001), is available in the Writing Center, or you may refer to www.apastyle.org for assistance. Your paper must be a minimum of six typewritten pages long and a maximum of seven pages long. APA guidelines require: 1" margins (top and bottom, left and right sides), double-spaced. Font: 12-point Times New Roman. I urge everyone to use the Writing Center for assistance.

Automatic Deductions

  1. Serious grammatical errors (e. g. misuse of "their" vs. "there", "to" vs. "too", etc. (5 point deduction for each).
  2. Unalphabetized bibliography (10 point deduction).
  3. No bibliography (Automatic "0").
  4. Plagiarism (Automatic "0").
  5. Improper citations (5 point deduction for each).
  6. Lengthy paragraphs or paragraphs that are too short (5 point deduction).
  7. Automatic 50 point deduction for any paper that is too short or too long
